Preschool Special Events & Siblings

St. Catherine of Siena Preschool plans its year with numerous outside events to entertain and educate the children.  Occasionally an event may necessitate the children leaving the campus.  These activities are mostly reserved for the 4-year-olds; however, in the event that the staff and administration see fit, the 3-year-olds may leave campus, too.  For the occasions, the classroom teachers will attend, and each child will be taken to the event by his parent.  The parent will stay throughout the event and bring his own child home or back to school.  If a parent cannot bring his child to the event, the child will stay at home for that day.

The special event has educational value and is for children enrolled in the early childhood center only; siblings are not invited to participate.  For safety, there is to be one parent and one child from each class on the field trip.  In the case of twins, a parent may bring his twins if they are enrolled in the same classroom but no other children from the family will attend.

Teachers will manage the field trips; they will send home notification to parents stating the name of the event, its educational value, the time, date and location of the event and any charge which will be incurred.  The classroom teacher will keep a record of all children and adults who go on the trip and submit a copy of that record to the center office before leaving.
