Sick Children

For the benefit of other children, please keep your child at home if he or she appears ill in the morning before you leave your home.  Your child must be able to participate in daily activities in order to attend.
There is no provision for child care inside the building while the class goes outside.  If children exhibit any of the following symptoms, they are considered contagious and should not be at school:

  • Fever of 100 degrees Fahrenheit or higher (May return 24 hours after being fever free with or without medication)
  • Vomiting
  • Two or more episodes of diarrhea (May return 24 hours after last diarrhea incident)
  • Red eyes or any unusual discharge from the eyes (May return 24 hours after treatment begins)
  • Chickenpox (May return after blisters dry)
  • Lice or nits (May return 24 hours after treatment begins)
  • Measles (May return 5 days after rash appears)
  • Ringworm (May return 24 hours after treatment begins)
  • Strep throat (May return 24 hours after treatment begins)

Children who display any of the above symptoms while at school will be sent home.

The center does not dispense medication during school hours.  Over-the-counter remedies are medication.

Medical forms, immunization records, and Emergency Cards must be completed and turned into the office or classroom teacher on or before the first day of school.
